It takes two things to put a puzzle together. Willingness and patience. I have neither one.
There is a couple in our church that loves to do puzzles. They sit by the hour, and piece by piece, they work at it. But not me. I like to see them when they are done, but don’t ask me to work on them. I have tried it, and I don’t like it.
It occurred to me that life is like a puzzle. God uses us to fill in the pieces. Piece by piece. Section by section. He shows us where each piece goes, so we don’t try to force any piece.
We may get bored at times, frustrated, or feel like we would rather give up. What you must do, however, is know that the pieces are all there. The more you try to place them where they belong, the more connections you discover. Soon you begin to visualize and discern images as they come together to form the overall vision of your life. When we try to put a piece in where it doesn’t belong, we mess things up.
Do you have a vision? What does your puzzle look like? Is it falling into place, or are you forcing the pieces to fit where they don’t belong?
Is there a missing piece? Where is it? Did you lose it? You will need it to finish the puzzle. God will help you find it if you seek it.
The pieces are all inside of you. God will show us where each one goes if we let Him.
The closer we get to finishing the puzzle a surprisingly stunning picture is revealing itself to you. So let God show you where to place each piece.
Here is a scripture that helps me:
“For I know the plans (pieces of the puzzle) I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29: 11-12
